Great Expectations

A few days back I decided to go for one of my usual walks, but instead I ended up running! Having now lost 15kg in the last 8months, I all of a sudden have all this energy and my fitness level is really suprising me! So I think my route was about 5km, and I'd say I run about half of that (in spurts). Today Alex and I went for another run/walk together, and I manged to run even further than before! I also used the heart rate monitor which was interesting. So I think I like the idea of building myself up to be able to run the whole 5km. My legs are totally killing me right now, but I'm sure that will go away in time.
In other late breaking news, I went to a seminar for a natural medicine course that I'll be taking up in July. It's actually going to be a degree, so it can be covered by 'Fee-Help', the private college version of Hex. I studied this stuff about 5 years ago for a period of nearly 3 years. I really enjoyed it at the time, but it just wasn't the right time in my life to put that learning into practice. Now I'm older, I know when I've finished I'll be in a position to actually set up a practice. If I had finished it before, I wouldn't have done all the travel I did because I would have been tied to a small business.
I also caught up with a new friend Brooke, after getting herself lost somewhere in Mosman Park she made it here and we went to freo for coffee and a chat. I hadn't really had much chance to get to know her previously, so this was really nice!
I'm looking forward to having a whole bunch of people over for Sunday lunch next weekend. I'll have to start thinking up some recipes, and ideas of what to cook. I must say I'm very lucky to have been accepted (so far) by this bunch of lovely people who have come into my life via Alex. There have been a few hiccups as mentioned in my last blog, but ultimatly I think it's all going to work out well. It's nice to meet new people, and extend myself a bit in getting to know them, and allowing them to get to know me (always the hard part for me!). I think potentially there are going to be some really strong friendships that result.
Life is good to me these days
