It's been a week or so...
...and so far being vegan has been fine. I haven't felt deprived, I haven't felt like I am missing out on anything, I've just tried lots of new and interesting foods and recipes.
I have however been surprised by a lot of peoples negative reaction. I guess ignorance is bliss. It's easy to be derogatory when you know almost nothing about a subject. When I have more time I'll write more about that.
Interesting new food stuffs so far:
-tempeh
-millet
-kale
-vegan cupcakes
-butter beans
-gluten free pasta
-sprouted grain bread
-rice milk
-home made sour dough
Best vegan recipes so far:
-Mexican millet ....sooooo good!!
-Rosewater and pistachio vegan cupcakes
Most expensive vegan ingredient:
-virgin coconut oil (tasty though!)
Easiest vegan dinner:
-tempeh and veg udon noodle stir fry with cashews.

I'd love to hear about those reactions. It's funny when people have a go at you, just because you care about something. I bet if you had a sling at something they cared about, they wouldn't find it as funny. Other people can be pretty naive sometimes.
other people suck.
oops, comment #1 was me!
I'm absolutely shocked that you've received negative reactions from anyone. How is a personal choice you're making about the foods you eat anyone else's business?! Really surprising and sad.
I hope that the admiration and respect I and your other friends feel about your decision eliminates any of those negative reactions.
I reckon vegans are dumb.
Nah, just yankin' your chain :P
What you eat is really none of anyone else's business. I'd only be worried that you wouldn't get enough nutrition, but I know with your background and interest in nutrition that would never happen!
