Hen's night
Last night was my sisters hens night. So it is her last week of being Miss Henley, and only days from being Mrs Cook.
We spent the first half of the evening at Harvest in North Fremantle enjoying an intimate meal in the private dining room which was very nice. I had a yummy beef fillet served on a bed of wilted rocket and roast veg. It was really tasty, but as is the way with these place it was a tiny serve and was pretty much only enough to get my appetite going. You really needed about 3 courses and dessert to have had a decent meal.
Dessert was nice though, it was a licorice brulee. I wonder what they used to flavour it with licorice? It actually tasted like real licorice root, rather than the fake aniseedy lollie licorice. Real licorice is a beautiful flavour and really quite delicate. So the brulee had a toffee top, and was also served along side a rhubarb sorbet flavoured with star anise. Yummy!
So it was a quietish night, which was good considering Jane wrote herself off the night before at the Kardy hotel doing Karaoke!
