Honesty is the best policy

In the interest of keep myself honest I am putting this down here for all to see...

I have signed up for the city to surf, and I am determined to do enough training in the next few weeks to do it comfortably. Also I am going to keep to my healthy eating habits.

So far today:
Ran 6km =568 calories or 2177Kj, which is equal to about 100g of chocolate, or 4 break off bars in a block. So that kinda puts things into perspective.

Today's food budget: 1500 calories.

Tonight I am off to see Lily Allen with Tony, Emma, Mark and Rich. So I have a feeling the food budget will be blown a bit with a drink or two. At least I've done some exercise though.

So the plan is to run at least 3 times a week, ideally 4.

2-3x my 6km Bibra Lake run, and then 1x my distance run which I think I'll start my stretch at 8km this week. It will hurt, but I know that is achievable. So hopefully by the time city to surf is here 12km will be fine.

My Mum is doing the city to surf too which is cool. It will be interesting to see who does the better time out of her and I. Last time I ran with her she had a quicker pace than me, but I think my stamina may be better than hers. We shall see.

Also I am interested in people's opinion here. What motivates you to put on your running stuff and go out the door for a run? What drives you to do it?

If it's not raining, I'm always up for a run. I'm way more motivated to run further if there's company. That's pretty much all i need.

Number one suggestion get this http://www.calorieking.com.au/software/ it will help keep you even more honest. I think Adam will attest to this.

I think if you want to lose weight you know nutrition stuff, but I've found switching to game meat is awesome. All the protein none of the fat. I eat about 200g of Roo or venison for dinner, which is usually after an hour or two of exercise. Also I know you hate it, but I think it's stupid to discount powders such as protein shakes and egg whites. They're MUCH cheaper and in reality you can easily get everything you need from your other 3-4 meals a day of whole food. I don't have the money or food to be throwing away half a dozen egg yolks every day.

As for the running C2S is ages away. I guess my biggest suggestion here is to run the course the week before. This helped me big time!!

Check out the nutrition calculators here http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/calculators.htm I know you think you know it all, but I guarantee this site knows more.

Anyway good luck, I want to run under 60min this year. So I think I'll be doing a lot of individual running, but you should probably come on Sundays when you're up to it.

Scarves as a fashion statement are homo. Full. Stop.

What motivates me to run ? Chasing that feeling of being in the zone and then the high afterwards. Love the high. Dione calls it my truth syrum.

I love running when it's absolutely pissing down. Last week my shoes were 80g heavier (each) from water :) Doesn't sound like much but that's basically three shots of water each never mind my socks!!

I love running. By C2S I should be 10kg lighter so it'll be even more fun.

Loving the calorie king!! Good tip, thanks! xo

Only problem is that is reckons I need to lose 20Kg!! I think I'd look ridiculous that skinny. Beside I like having some curves. I think aiming for 10kg is probably better.

I'm glad you like the software, it's great hey! :)

Yeah it says I should lose 35kg to be healthy... I think I'd have to lose a stack of muscle to do that and I'm not willing to do so. I feel pretty fit at the moment so I think I'll go by that.

However I think the best bet is to set a goal, reach it and re-evaluate. Maybe at 10kg lost you will want to do more, maybe not. I always thought I'd like to be 85kg but that's only realistic after my operation.
