House gig

So last night was our house re-warming party . It's now been over a year since Alex, Ben and I moved in together to our beautiful North Freo home. The drinking started early with Al who cracked open his first brew around 1pm.

We had a half decent turn out of people for our house gig put on by the fabulously talented Justin Walshe and Rhyll Wilson. Favourite songs of the evening seems to be the 'fucking a girl in the back of a car' song, the 'bag' song, the 'you're a fucking cunt song' and the song about working in a call centre.

We had a competition to see who could get the best picture of a woman in Ben's bed. The whole idea comes from when Ben was away for about 2 weeks and between Al's friends and mine about 3 women had slept in his bed. I decided after that to start documenting women in Ben's bed. I have a collection of about 5, but we needed more, thus the competition. We had entrys from Ben's sisters, my sister's dog (Alisha), Emma Weatherall, Liz, Keziah and Rhyll (the tequila twins). By the end of the night we decided that as there was nudity Rhyll and Keziah won. Although Ben's sisters came a close second as it depicts Miriam with her hands on her boobs which totally freaked Ben out...nice work! Keziah won the monkey on a vespa stenciled art that Ben and Casper made.

By about 12 a lot of people had left, and that's when the tequila came out! We also were lucky enough to have a repeat performance of our favourite songs by Justin and Rhyll. For some reason this was done in Al's room till he decided to kick us out cause he wanted to sleep...rude bastard!

So all in all it was a really nice night I thought. The mess didn't take long to clean up after we all came back from a hangover cure breakfast at Aubergines.

The List

There is a couple (guy & girl) at my work that have a list of who at my work they would sleep with. Apparently the story goes that if one of the people on your list propositions you it's ok to sleep with them.
I found out I'm on BOTH lists...I don't know whether I should proposition one of them to find out if the rumour are true, or just avoid them both. I'm also not sure if I'm flattered or horrified.

Nomination for worst friend ever award

So today and yesterday I had the good fortune of having lunch with Matt and Adam. As their office is just up the road from mine it made sense that we make up for lost 'lunch togetherness' time and meet up 2 days in a row.

Today I brought lunch. I had promised the boys jelly bean sandwiches (minus the black ones for Adam), but instead concoted all kinds of vego weirdness.

Anyway, the reason I think I should be nominated for the worst friend ever award is because when my friend from work Michael came over to say hi, I couldn't remember Matts name!!! I had a total brain malfunction, the name Susan kept swimming about my head, which I knew was wrong, so I said nothing and poor Matt introduced himself. I introduced Adam too, which he claims he didn't hear, so I'm in the bad books there too! I'll have to make it up to them on Sat night and Monday at Parklife.

All kinds of 'gossip' went on this arvo as to whom my two male 'friends' were. It's amazing what people make up when you don't tell them much. Last I heard when I left at 5pm was that Matt was a dodgy gangster who dabbles in black market, second hand stripper poles, and Adam was some kind of weather baloon expert. Ok not really, but about 5 people asked me which one is my boyfriend.

Freo Fun Run

So Aaron and I have just finished the Freo 10km fun run. I did it in 1 hour and 5 minutes, Aaron I think took about 53 minutes? I'll have to check that. But I do know he stopped and took photos a lot, so that won't have helped his time! haha
It was pretty warm in the sun and there was very little breeze which I find difficult. But the main thing is I did it, so I'm happy! I also raised just over $100 for the Royal Flying Doctors Service which is cool.
SO I've planned my next really long run, which is 14km. I think I'll run from my house to my Mum's in Munster, and if I'm really lucky I'll get fed and watered there then droppped back home. It will probably take me near on an hour and a half, but that's ok.
Mum came to watch and tried to take a few photos of me running through the finish line, but she kinda missed, they are quite funny actually. I'll upload them to ringo soon.

Night, night sleep tight

It's almost 10.30 and I'm about to go off to sleep.Tomorrow is the Freo fun run, which I'm really psyched to be doing. I don't know why, after all I've run further than 10km before. I guess it's just this is the 'official' reason I started adding extra distance to my runs. I'll be interested to see if a lack of hills helps me to do the distance a bit faster. The run starts at 8am, so I'll have to be up early for a Sunday.
Night xo

I'm sick in the head

Today I am sick, my head feels like it's full of cotton wool, and I feel as if it's about to explode in a rain of mucus and snot...nice!

I was supposed to go for a run with Adam today which I was really looking forward to, but I couldn't stay at work any longer I had to go. Customers were starting to ask me to repeat myself a lot. For instance where I would normally ask 'Do you want glass cover?' it sounded like 'do ou vant ass cover?' I wonder what that would insure you against? Hemorrhoids, anal leakage, a prolapsed rectum?...now there is a picture in my medical dictionary you don't want to see twice!

On a more pleasant note my Dr has given me tomorrow off work, so I'll just rest up and hope that I'll be ok to do the run on Sunday. Screw it, even if I'm badly disfigured in a freakish garden hoe incident, I'm still going to do it. Dirty Hoes...ok, the pain medication I've taken for my aching face is kicking in, can you tell? The crazy talk is starting...better go off to bed before I start on about fecal digiting...my new favourite medical term.

Yummy stuff

Today I finally cooked the rabbit that Mark White gave us, it's been sitting in our freezer for months. When we got it he said to us 'It may look like a dead cat, but I promise it's a rabbit'. So I think I cooked rabbit, or maybe we had cat, who knows?

So I cooked it very slowly for 3 hours in a whole bottle of red wine with onions carrots , mushrooms and herbs. Then to go with it we had roasted vegies, brown rice and yummy chapatti type bread which I made with chick pea flour. After that we had a really yummy peach crumble with custard.

I am totally stuffed now, I always pig out on dinner after a long run!

Kicking ass

Today I went for another run wanting to do about 9/9.5 km and somehow managed to run 11.8km!!...The Freo fun run is in the bag!

Busy Weekend

What a busy weekend I have had! On Friday night I had a work graduation ceremony for those of us that passed Certificate 3 in financial services. I like a lot of the people at my work, and it's nice to get an opportunity to do something with them in a social setting. The other nice thing was it gave me a really good excuse to buy a new dress and get all glammed up!

So the food was ok, it was one of those chicken or beef type situations, but I think free food and booze is always a good thing. Desert was nice enough, it was mostly icecream which always keep the punters happy.

After the ceremony and the food we had a DJ and did some dancing. The type of music playing made me feel like I was back at a highschool social. The most embarrassing part is that I actually danced to Barry Manilo's Copa cabana! Oh the shame! People talk about doing stupid things when being drunk like cheating on their partner or thinking beastiality is ok for one night...but dancing to that song, well it's just totally unforgivable!

So Saturday I worked, and it was absolute torture! More because I was so tired than having a hang over. After work I got organised and went to Maggie's so we could do the makeup thing together and then make our way to Steve's place for his house warming party . The party was an 80's theme so it was a bit tricky finding something 80's inspired that I already had. When Maggie and I got there we were told that we both looked 'normal'! I had giant hair and mad dark green eye shadow on, so it was a bit of a worry that people think that's normal for me. My hair is still one giant knot of curls and hairspray.

The first few hours consisted of a lot of 80's music which I totally hate, but you put up with these things for friends. Most of the night I spent hanging out with Maggie which is always nice. I always feel very comfortable around her and we often have very frank open discussions which is great. She's just one of those people who's on the same wave length as me.

I got home at about 1am and slept through the next day until noon...what bliss!

Getting closer...

8.3km in 55 minutes...slow, but I'm getting there. If I can get the distance I'll work on the speed later..actually I don't care about the speed, just the distance, I'm happy!

Those crazy Japanee

So another boring Saturday at work with nothing to do but trawl the internet for the weird and wonderful. So thanks to Gwen Stefani you've heard of Harakuju in Japan, the mecca of weird fashion trends. So whilst looking at this stuff I've discovered all kind of weird little Japanese fashion sub cultures.

For example the Yamambas who wear heavy white eye makeup, get very dark fake tans, bleach their hair blonde, wear big platform shoes and dress in anything fluro. They can also be known as Kogals,Gogals,Gongals and Gangals.

For Kogals the idea is to look like the classic Californian Valley girl. It seems to be a culture of materialism, and wealth which is expressed through the expensive fashion items they buy like Louise Vitton and Burberry. They are also the first try new mobile phone technology. I think Kogals are not quite as 'cartoony' as Gonals. This culture exists in the Shibuya region of Tokyo.

Just in case you were wondering...

You Are 28% Sociopath

From time to time, you may be a bit troubled and a bit too charming for your own good.

It's likely that you're not a sociopath... just quite smart and a bit out of the mainstream!

Plans

On the 24th Sept I'm going to do the Fremantle Fun Run which is 10km. I'm yet to run 10km, so it will be a bit of a challenge pushing myself that far.

So I went for another 7Km run with Ben the other day which only took us 42 minutes, which I was pretty happy with. Then we talked about how I can work my way up to a 10km run. So the plan is to each week have 2x5km runs, 1x3km run, and then my long run I will add 1km to each week. So next week I'll do a 8km run for my long one, then the week after that I'll do an 9km run and then an 11km run. Ben was saying it's important to have run further than the distance on the day, that way your mentally prepared and know you can do it.

If anyone reading this wants to come for a run with me, give me a call, I'm always happy to find new running partners, I get bored on my own.

So the fun run is to raise money for the Royal Flying Doctors, so it's a good cause as well as a way to motivate me! I'll be taking the donation forms around work tomorrow to see how much money I can raise from my co-workers. There are some nice prizes if you raise certain amounts.

The pulchritudinous couple

How do two people know so completely that they'll be together forever?

In witnessing the marriage of Casper and Erin, I felt that their union was perfect too. What a magic day it was, the whole event hummed of just the kind of people that those two are.

Ben made a comment in his speech about how everything just seems to go right for Casper, and yesterday was no exception. God seemed to part the clouds, bring out the sun and add a magic sparkle to the sweet country air.

I just feel lucky to have been there, and to share such a great day with them and the friends and family they invited.
